When compared to most states Idaho is considered to have a lower population, with a population density of only 19.5 people per square mile overall! That number alone, however, is 2.5 times bigger than the next most populated city in the state, Nampa. Additionally, Boise is the fourth largest city in the Pacific Northwest overall.
