Idaho has a wide variety of homes for sale, found all throughout local towns and cities. Idaho’s most populated cities are located around its capital -- the area known as the Boise Metropolitan Area.
Boise is an excellent community to live in. Boise is the head of the Boise Metropolitan District, as it is both the capital and the largest city in the state. This unique brand of metropolis combines the bustling activity of a larger city with small-town sensibilities. Venues like high-end shopping centers, grand museums, and lavish entertainment halls can be found throughout Boise’s streets, alongside impressive city parks and nature trails. Visit the tree-lined streets of Downtown Boise and shop at the many privately owned stores and cafes, then enjoy the incredible outdoor space of parks like Kathryn Albertson Park or Julia Davis Park. Julia Davis is the oldest and most-renown parks in the city, home of the Boise Rose Society and Garden, the Boise Art Museum, and the Discovery Center of Idaho, a lead science museum.
Meridian is to the west of Boise, and is the third largest city in the state. Despite Meridian’s large size, it possesses a strongly interactive community with many venues and events to bring residents together. Meridian is home to The Village at Meridian, a premier European-styled shopping center. This deluxe area also includes restaurants, an advanced movie theater, and an entertainment center called Big Al’s -- a bowling alley and arcade. You can also find the Pacific Northwest’s largest waterpark in Meridian, the Roaring Springs Waterpark. This park, which spans over 650,000 square feet, includes over fifteen water attractions.
The city of Eagle is found to the northeast of Boise, just ten miles away. Though not a large city, Eagle has developed into a very popular area. This manicured town is mostly suburban, composed of larger homes and lot sizes. Because Eagle backs up onto the edge of the Treasure Valley, there are more expansive tracts of land available for purchase here than in other parts of the valley. Eagle is also where Eagle Island State Park is located, arguably the most well-known state park in the Treasure Valley. This park spans 545 acres, and includes a massive lawn, equestrian trails, a swimming area, and a water slide.
Nampa, on the other hand, is the second largest city in the Idaho. Historically, Nampa is a primarily agricultural city. In fact, Nampa is still the global leading producer of sweet corn seed. However, this rapidly building city has prime real estate in both urban and rural homes, and has attracted many excellent businesses into the area. The Gateway Shopping Center and the Karcher Mall, for example, have some of the best commercial shopping in the city. Nampa is also the city closest to Lake Lowell. This is the largest lake in the Treasure Valley, as well as one of the best locations for boating and outdoor swimming. .
