Cities on Idaho MLS
With the MLS Idaho has, there are several cities to choose from. Many of these cities are located in the Boise Metropolitan area, which holds 40% of Idaho’s population. There are four counties within the Boise Metropolitan, otherwise known as the Treasure Valley. These counties are Ada, Boise, Canyon, Gem, and Owyhee. Within these counties, some of the top cities for real estate are Boise, Meridian, Eagle, and Nampa.
Boise, Idaho, the state’s capital, is the most populated city in the state. The houses on Boise MLS include many different styles and sizes of homes that can appeal to a wide range of people. Boise is unique in that it offers both urban and rural lifestyles, and the identities between the two come together as homeowners see fit.
In the more rural areas of Boise, single family homes make up the majority of their contribution to Boise real estate. The more urban neighborhoods, however, has more apartments and condos. No matter where you choose to live in this city, however, Boise residents enjoy a welcoming community with plenty of reasons to live in the beautiful city of trees.
Popular activities for those who live in Boise include visiting the popular outdoor parks, like Ann Morison and Julia Davis. To get outdoors, Boise residents can visit the Greenbelt, a 20 mile- long paved trail adjacent to the river, the near-by foot hills with trails such as Table Rock. For a more city-centered lifestyle, downtown Boise has a Town Square Mall, as well as local stores for shopping options.
Meridian is close to Boise in proximity and the community that they share. Though Meridian is more rural than Boise, it is quickly growing. In fact, Meridian increased in population by 81.5% from 2000 to 2014. Like Boise, it has more urban areas with shopping centers and restaurant, and still utilizes the rural areas for wider spread population.
Meridian real estate is very similar to Boise’s with the property types and styles of homes. Included in Meridian’s MLS are single family homes, townhouses, and apartments. Meridian MLS includes many properties that could appeal to you!
Parks in Meridian include Tully Park, Settlers’ Park, and Story Park. For getting outdoors, many Meridian residents will travel to near-by camping areas in the Boise National Forest. Similar to Boise, Meridian has shopping conveniences including the Meridian Village and other local shopping centers.
Eagle has both a smaller population and population density than Meridian and Boise. Because of the almost 30 square miles of land in Eagle, Eagle properties have room to be more spacious and typically utilize larger plots of land. Most homes on Eagle MLS will be single family homes, generally more spacious than Meridian and Boise.
Eagle has a smaller town atmosphere but is still close enough to Meridian and Boise to not lose anything in amenities or entertainment. Eagle residents, as well as the residents of Boise and Meridian, can utilize the activities in their nearby cities as well as their own.
To get outdoors, locals will visit the Eagle Island State park with accessible activities including swimming, canoeing, picnicking, and Frisbee golf. Eagle is not too far from Boise and Meridian for shopping to be at anyone’s disposal.
Nampa is the second most populous city in Idaho and is the most populated in Canyon County. Despite its size, many consider Nampa a more rural community. This community has become linked with the Boise community, as residents in both cities interact with each other.
Homes in Nampa are affordable, high in availability- with more than 790 homes on Nampa’s MLS as of June 2014. Most homes in Nampa are single family residential homes, some with land attached. Look into Nampa real estate for more home options.
Lake Lowell is a great recreational location in Nampa, Idaho. Locals from Nampa and surrounding areas will use this lake for the activities that come with boating such as water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, wake surfing, and knee boarding. Additionally, swimming and fishing is popular as well.
