Eagle is a smaller community outside of the major developed areas of by Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. Though considered part of the Boise Metropolitan area, Eagle enjoys the luxury of being a somewhat secluded area that makes it ideal. It has both an urban and slow-paced identity, giving the best of both worlds.
Eagle has a population of only 19,908, as of the 2010 census, and has a population density nearly five times smaller than Boise. Unlike some other smaller towns in Idaho, however, Eagle is mostly suburban with little agricultural designation. Eagle is a continually developing city that has constructed itself into a beautiful destination and community for any who want to live there.
Eagle’s position in the Northern part of the Treasure Valley means quick access to some of the more mountainous areas, with activities like hiking, biking, rock climbing, and winter sports like snowboarding or skiing. Eagle residents can also enjoy the many parks of Eagle, including Eagle Island State Park. Eagle Island is a popular area that caters to many with activities like fishing, boating, swimming, volleyball, biking, and so much more. Furthermore, the open expanse of the park makes it an ideal location for community gatherings and fairs.
Fairs at Eagle Island State Park can include fundraisers to period-specific recreational festivals, such as a Renaissance Fair or a Civil War reenactment. More cultural activities are found throughout the city, like the Eagle Performing Arts Center, which hosts dance lessons in many styles.
Conveniently, Eagle is only ten miles away from the capital city, and therefore is a great location to live if you want access to Boise’s amenities without living there. The parks, restaurants, and theaters available in Boise are at the fingertips of Eagle’s population.
