Why Boise?

The capital city of Boise and its metropolitan area is one of the most popular areas in Idaho. As the fourth most populous city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, Boise is the home of over 200,000 people. This active and growing community continues to thrive as the city progresses into the future - in fact, in 2014, TIME magazine ranked Boise as the #1 city in the United States to be “getting it right,” based on economic and cultural advancement, as well as quality health care and advanced education.

Boise was also ranked as one of the safest places to live in the United States by the Farmers Insurance Group and was calculated to have an average crime rate of 195.0 crimes a year, far below the 301.1 crimes a year in the United States' average. As part of the community, there are four colleges around the Boise area for education.

Location is Everything!

The value of a home has is considered with its age, style, and size. A component that is very significant to the value of the home, however, is location.

Boise is in the southwest region of Idaho, next to the Boise River. Its location in Idaho’s Treasure Valley offers both special recreational and cultural opportunities for its residents. The Boise metropolitan area is surrounded by an abundant amount of natural landscape, including the Boise Foothills to the northwest of the city. The foothills are popular locations for cross-country biking and hiking during the warmer months of the year, and during the winter months are used for sledding.

The Boise River that runs adjacent to the city is also a popular recreational site. The river, which runs from the Sawtooth Mountain range to the Snake River, is a popular casual rafting river for those who enjoy casual summer-day excursions. The Greenbelt, a twenty mile trail along the Boise River, is a path surrounded by lush trees and teeming wildlife, which connects Boise’s many riverside parks.

Real Estate in Boise

No matter what you are looking for in the desired home, Boise has something for you! Boise real estate covers a wide variety of house styles, neighborhoods, and properties for your ideal home. For example, one of the most identifiable neighborhoods in Boise real estate, the North End, is a varied and thriving urban environment.

The North End of Boise, which is considered to be everything north of State Street, is a historic community with large trees, parks, and other such greenery that makes it one of the more popular places to live in the range of Boise real estate. The North End was home to some of the most influential citizens during Boise’s growth in the beginning of the twentieth century, and these people all built homes unique to their tastes. As such, there is a breadbasket of architectural styles within the North End, all within an inviting and friendly atmosphere.

Another well known area of Boise real estate is the Warm Springs area, in the Eastern part of Boise. Warm Springs is named for the hot springs that run underneath Boise and used in the Boise area to heat homes and businesses. Warm Springs’ close proximity to the rolling expanses of the Boise Foothills has allowed this neighborhood to have larger homes, historically built in the beginning of the twentieth century.

Boise Attractions

People who invest in a new Boise home will move into a community with a vibrant state of life. The tight-knit community of Boise is built by the local small businesses, which contribute to Boise’s economic and cultural growth by adding their own unique services to the area.

Boise has attractions that delight residents and visitors alike, like the Bogus Basin Ski Resort, a winter-time recreational facility north of Boise. Bogus Basin hosts skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and even snowshoeing to patrons with an average of about 200 inches of natural snow every year. In the summer months, Bogus Basin will allow private parties to hike through the 37,000 miles of trail. Bogus Basin has also trained at least two Olympic medalists.

Boise residents can visit Lucky Peak State Park, just east of the Warm Springs neighborhood within Boise real estate, for activities like swimming, fishing, boating, and more fun in the sun!

Boise is also home to gorgeous parks, including the infamous Julia Davis Park. This park was named after the wife of Thomas Davis, who dedicated this park in her honor in 1907. Since its inception, the city of Boise has worked to expand and improve the park, including adding a rose garden, band shell, even a zoo! Julia Davis Park is close to the Boise Art Museum, Idaho Historical Museum, and the Discovery Center of Idaho, a center dedicated to furthering science education in the lives of its visitors.

These attractions, and even the varied architectural inspirations of the buildings within Boise itself, give the city touches of charm. Wherever you are in Boise, there is always something to do or see.
