Why Choose Eagle?
Eagle is a beautiful community found ten miles Northeast of Boise, Idaho’s capital. This small town has only a tenth the population that Boise has. However, thanks to its artistic identity, outdoor spaces, and prime placement in the Treasure Valley, it has become one of the most desirable locations in the state.
Spread out over nearly 10 square miles, Eagle residents live in a strongly suburban community complete with high-quality, single family homes and tree-lined streets. Many of Eagle’s neighborhoods include charming common areas, like clubhouses, playgrounds, and lawns. There are over thirty different neighborhoods in Eagle with homes for sale, and a majority of them include Homeowner’s Associations. These organizations help maintain these properties by cutting lawns, caring for neighborhood pools, and more.
Eagle is a cultural district, with excellent shopping and dining businesses born and bred from within the community. The city is filled with artwork like murals and sculptures, created by talented individuals from the area and in celebration of community spirit. Local parks like Arboretum Park, an informal botanical garden, and the Eagle Sports Complex, which is complete with a 12,500 square foot skate park, are fun venues to spend the day. You could even visit the Eagle Performing Arts Center. This facility teaches dance classes every week in styles like ballet, ballroom, and Scottish country. The EPAC even includes an art gallery open to the public.
Despite the urbanized area, Eagle still makes the time to return to its farming roots. Like much of the rest of Idaho, Saturday Farmers Markets are a local staple of the warmer months. Here you can find fresh and homemade goods for sale as well as sell any extra produce you might have. In fact, Eagle’s outdoors are great not only for the budding or established farmer, but all sorts of people!
Have you visited Eagle Island State Park? This recreational nature reserve covers 545 acres of land both wet and dry. This park has room for many activities, including horseback riding, swimming, boating, fishing, and every so often, festivals like Renaissance Fairs, firework shows, and other community events. This park in the southeastern area of Boise is bordered on both the northern and southern ends by the Boise River.
The Boise River runs through a majority of the Treasure Valley, as one of Idaho’s best public rivers. During the warmer months, people float along it’s 102-mile expanse, or fish for rainbow trout. Equally as picturesque as the river is the Greenbelt, a long, paved walkway between Boise and Eagle that runs along the river itself. This Greenbelt is a wonderful place to enjoy Idaho’s temperate weather alongside the leisurely river.
Another popular outdoor space, the foothills to the north of Eagle, is often visited for its rugged terrain and stunning views of the valley. Trails wind through this area for everyone, including climbers, bikers, and hikers, regardless of skill level. In the winter, Eagle residents can visit the Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area. This snow resort to the Northeast is of the best in Idaho, and has slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing.
If its about location, you can’t beat Eagle. The city of Eagle has one of the best placements in the Treasure Valley. Because it neighbors cities like Boise, Nampa, and Meridian, locals can share amenities and events easily. Eagle experiences much less traffic, however, than the other cities by being a slightly more remote area.
