There are many cities in Idaho that can appeal to you, especially in the Southwestern region of Idaho, the most populated area of the state. In fact, the Boise Metropolitan area in the Southwestern portion of Idaho has over forty percent of the total state population.

Boise

As the capital of Idaho, Boise is the most populated city in the entirety of the state, out-populating the second highest city, Nampa, 2.5 to 1. Boise is a distinctly urban environment, with a strongly developed downtown area and bordering neighborhoods. Despite this big city aspect, however, Boise still retains a small-town environment. Small and large businesses come together in this city to appeal to all sorts of consumers, and there are residences ranging from bungalows to starter castles for anyone who wants to buy a home here.

Meridian

Meridian is the third largest city in Idaho, thanks to a growth rate of 81.5% since 2000. Originally a community that on that was simply on the border of Boise, Meridian has developed into its own clearly defined town with high desirability. Its close proximity to Boise still allows it to utilize the bigger city’s many attractions, still creates its own cultural and recreational activities to be enjoyed, including water parks, arcades, and impressive shopping centers.

Nampa

Nampa enjoys distinction as the second largest city in Idaho, as well as the city with some of the most affordable home prices in all of Idaho. As of May 2014, Nampa’s mean price for a home was $150,695. Because of this affordability, many people continue to flock to Nampa’s real estate. Nampa continues to have a strong agricultural influence, despite the urban areas in the city. In fact, Nampa produces 90% of the world’s sweet corn seed. Nampa has many parks to enjoy, but also enjoys many kinds of concerts and performances at the Ford Idaho Center.

Caldwell

Caldwell is an excellent town, located to the west of Meridian and Nampa. Notably more rural than the nearby Boise. Caldwell is well known for its famous Canyon County Fair since its inception in the late 19th century. Caldwell is home to one of the oldest colleges in the state of Idaho. Caldwell is able to fuse times to create an eclectic and fun city, which boasts of a planetarium, a skydiving facility, and golf courses.

Eagle

Located Northwest of Idaho, Eagle is an up-and-coming town that has a majority of its homes in suburbia. A bedroom community, Eagle still remains one of the smaller major cities in the Treasure Valley. However, it has a population density of only 688 residents per mile, making it a spacious location to buy property in. Eagle residents also enjoy how their location allows them access to some great recreation, such as the nearby Boise Foothills that have great hiking and biking trails. Eagle is also home to Eagle State Park, a beautiful community nature reserve with swimming, fishing, and horseback riding.

Kuna

Kuna can be found Southwest from Boise. It is a smaller town, with only 15,210 people according to the 2010 census. However, that number is triple what it was in 2000, and Kuna continues to grow. This part of Idaho has many popular natural monuments, including a fantastic view of the Snake River from the Snake River Canyon Outlook. There are a lot of larger properties in Kuna thanks to the size, and local ranches and farms use up much of the space. Kuna is a beautiful rural community that truly encapsulates some of Idaho’s incredible landscape.

Idaho

Those who move to Idaho can experience many benefits that the state has in reserve. Idaho is a state in the Pacific Northwest, with an ultimately temperate climate. Due to this climate, Idaho residents can enjoy all four clearly defined seasons; winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Not only does this make Idaho have many different seasonal treasures such as ice formations, blooming trees, and falling leaves, but Idaho residents may utilize these seasonal benefits for recreational purposes.

Idaho is a very mountainous region, thanks to the Rocky Mountains that run through the state. These mountainous areas are ideal for activities like hiking or climbing during the warmer months, as well as skiing and snowboarding during the colder. Furthermore, there are many alpine lakes that lie in between these mountains, where there are boating, fishing, and kayaking opportunities.

For those interested in other sorts of activities, Idaho has many cultural activities that promote the arts, like visiting the Boise Art Museum, which displays about twenty-two different unique exhibits a year, several focused on artwork from around the world and Idaho’s own backyard. Another fun activity is participating in the Idaho Shakespeare Festival (ISF), which has an educational program that tours through the majority of the state. The ISF helps bring residents of Idaho and beyond become inspired by theater.
