Idaho’s home market has many locations across the state that can appeal to your needs. If you’re looking for a cultural and social hub with access to both community and global influences, perhaps you might find the perfect home in Idaho’s capital city, Boise.

Why Boise?

The capital city of Boise and its metropolitan area is one of the most prominent cities in Idaho. As the third most populous city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, Boise is the home to over 200,000 people. This active and growing community continues to thrive as the city progresses into the future. In fact, in 2014, TIME magazine ranked Boise as the #1 city in the United States to be “getting it right,” based on economic and cultural advancement as well as quality health care and advanced education.

Boise was also ranked as one of the safest places to live in the United States by the Farmers Insurance Group, and was determined to have an average crime rate of 195.0 crimes a year, far below the 301.1 crimes a year average of the United States as a whole. Boise is also a highly educated community, being served by four colleges in the general area.

Boise Attractions

Boise has many contributions to its vibrant state of life. The tight-knit community of Boise was built by the many local small businesses, which contribute to Boise’s economic and cultural growth by adding their own unique services to the area.

Boise has many attractions that delight residents and visitors alike, including the Bogus Basin Ski Resort, a winter-time recreational facility north of Boise. Bogus Basin hosts skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and even snowshoeing to patrons with an average of about 200 inches of natural snow every year. Bogus Basin has trained at least two Olympic medalists on these slopes, and several other Olympic participants. In the summer months, however, Bogus Basin will allow private parties to hike through the 37,000 miles of trail.

Also during the summer months, Boise residents can visit Lucky Peak State Park, just east of the Warm Springs neighborhood within Boise Real Estate, for activities like swimming, fishing, boating, and more fun in the sun!

Boise is also home to many gorgeous parks, including the infamous Julia Davis Park. This park was named after the wife of Thomas Davis, who dedicated this park in her honor in 1907. Since its inception, the city of Boise has worked to expand and improve the park, including adding a rose garden, band shell, even a zoo! Julia Davis Park even contains the Boise Art Museum, Idaho Historical Museum, and the Discovery Center of Idaho, a center dedicated to furthering science education in the lives of its visitors.

These attractions, and even the varied architectural inspirations of the buildings within Boise itself, give the city touches of worldly charm. Wherever you are in Boise, there is always something to do or see.

Location is Everything!

Boise is located in the southwest region of Idaho, next to the Boise River. Its location in Idaho’s Treasure Valley offers both special recreational and cultural opportunities for its residents. The Boise metropolitan area is surrounded by an abundant amount of natural landscape, including the Boise Foothills to the northwest of the city. The foothills are popular locations for cross-country biking and hiking during the warmer months of the year, and during the winter months are used for snowboarding and skiing.

The Boise River that runs adjacent to the city is also a popular recreational site. The river, which runs from the Sawtooth Mountain range to the Snake River, is a popular casual rafting river for those who enjoy casual summer-day excursions. The Greenbelt, a twenty mile trail along the Boise River, is a path surrounded by lush trees and teeming wildlife, which connects Boise’s many riverside parks.
