Are you wanting to shop in the north end of Boise, but can’t figure out where to start? Here are some options that will add some excitement to your shopping spree! Note: A few of these shops may lean more on the expensive side. However, it is definitely worth the visit, even if it’s only for window shopping!

Press and Still- The shop is located at 2709-11 W. State Street and is one heck of a perfume store! Founded by aromatherapist and natural perfumer, Elise Wishlow, this store is filled with all-natural perfumes and body care products. These are made by using only the highest quality of essential oils and plant-based ingredients. Each of the products are also blended in very small batches in their lab which is also located in Boise. The store also has an online shop for you to check their wears, along with instructions on how to use each of the oils so that it is not too overpowering. Call before going to the store to check on which hours and days they are open.

In Retrospect- This cute little thrift store is found at 1940 W. State Street and specializes in clothes from the 1920’s-1970’s, as well as Victorian, Edwardian, Vintage wedding, costumes, and more! Their online store can be found on Etsy, and each of the items are categorized on the side to make it easier to find the best gift or accessory to your outfit. Some of the items are available for gift wrapping, in store pickup, international shipping, and layaway, but be sure to contact the store for more information on its policies. Each of these items has been hunted down by the store owner, who is obsessed with all things vintage, so some of the items have higher prices, depending on the quality of the item. The store is open 11am-6pm every day except for Tuesdays and Sundays.

Slips of Boise- Located at 1201 W. Eastman Street, this store is known as a fantasy land for people who love fine fabrics. Each of the products are custom sewn for your home including slipcovers, window treatments, cushions, pillows, bedding, and tons more! If you need it, they can make it. Everything is made up of detail oriented interior design with a specific focus on soft furnishings. To find out more information on which days they are open, as well as the store hours, contact them through their Facebook page or call the number that is in their information.

Tri-Town Bicycles- Are you wanting to find a newer ride than your old mountain bike? Look no further! This store is located at 1517 N. 13th Street and specializes in all things bicycles. The store was first opened in 2011 by two friends and triathletes. So far, they have worked and trained with World Champion athletes, as well as Ironman and Age-Group Champions, a number of international and domestic professional triathletes, and first-timer triathletes training for their first triathlon. They have been recognized as one of the top multisport stores in the country. If you’re wanting to rent a bike, have your bike fixed, or get a newer bike, you are definitely in the right place. You can also have private coaching if you are preparing for a triathlon! The store is open every day except for Sundays, opening at 10 am and closing at 7 pm (unless it is Saturday; it closes at 4 pm). Also, be sure to check out their online store for more products to choose from.

Idaho Mountain Touring- This outdoor sports store is located at 1310 W. Main Street and specializes in outdoor clothes, bicycle and ski repair, and any other thing that is needed for a backpacking trip (such as books, maps, and backpacks). The store has been open since 1984, and they offer quality products and exceptional service at a fair price. They are also partnered with the best brands in the Cycling, Ski and Outdoor Industry, and they truly back it up with expert advice. They really want you to have a great experience purchasing gear that helps you enjoy your passion, so feel free to ask them any questions, whether it be through the online store or in person. The store is open every day from 9:30am-7pm Mondays through Fridays, 9am-6pm on Saturdays, and 11am-5pm on Sundays.

The Boardroom- This last outdoor sports store is located at 2727 W. State Street, and specializes in skateboards, snowboards, longboards, and wakeboards. The shop was founded in 1995 and was originally located in a small one room building and specialized in only snowboard equipment. It started out as a seasonal business operating Labor Day weekend through Memorial Day weekend until 1997. With this move, it expanded into a year-round business selling all of the boards mentioned, as well as lifestyle apparel and footwear. The Board Room also hosts several annual events for the community including skate camps, rail jams, Grom Games and the biggest movie premiers Idaho has seen. Their high level of customer service and the experience each of their patrons have when visiting, combined with their educated and professional staff and an amazing selection of unique and specialty products, makes this place an amazing shop, to say the least. They are open every day from 11am-7pm Mondays through Fridays, 10am-6pm on Saturdays, and 11am-5pm on Sundays. Be sure to check their online store for even more options and brands to choose from.

Hopefully, these stores have given you a basic idea of what is in the area. Most of them are closer to the downtown area but are still considered to be in the North End district of Boise. If you are looking for even more options on where to shop in this part of town, feel free to ask any of the locals for more information. Visit North End today!
