The region's landscapes are situated at the base of the Boise Foothills and provide a diverse combination of rich topography boasting rocky cliffs, rolling hills, densely wooded waterside frontage, and scenic views of the Boise Mountain Range. Located minutes from the downtown Boise area, situated along the Boise River, sits Boise's southern region.

Traveling to the area along the Oregon Trail back in 1879 would have likely brought visitors to the two-story Joseph and Temperance Bown House, one of the oldest remaining sand structures in the valley, with significant additions to Idaho's history throughout the decades.
