Southeast Boise

The history of Southeastern Boise began well before its establishment in 1863, with fertile land, scenic river views, and room to roam. The region's landscapes are situated at the base of the Boise Foothills and provide a diverse combination of rich topography boasting rocky cliffs, rolling hills, densely wooded waterside frontage, and scenic views of the Boise Mountain Range. Located minutes from the downtown Boise area, situated along the Boise River, sits Boise's southern region.

Traveling to the area along the Oregon Trail back in 1879 would have likely brought visitors to the two-story Joseph and Temperance Bown House, one of the oldest remaining sand structures in the valley, with significant additions to Idaho's history throughout the decades.

The southeast region of Boise has flourished generously with nearly 150 years of fine-tuning residential, commercial, and industrial development. A modern combination of sleek and stylish homes, community parks, greenbelt and nature preserve, shops, boutiques, restaurants, tree-lined pathways, historic destinations, and Boise river access.

Boise's Optimist Complex Park offers a variety of outdoor activity opportunities, pathways, covered bench seating, open grass areas, tennis courts, with beautiful ponds dotted throughout the park. The park boasts mature tree life and 51-acres of sweeping greenery.

If heading to this location, please keep in mind that the winter dog off-leash season comes to a close in the upcoming weeks, and owners will be required to leash their dogs as of Tuesday, March 1.
