Visiting the Treasure Valley or the city of Boise in the springtime has the potential to make any experience into memories that last a lifetime. There are droves of indoor and outdoor activities waiting to be enjoyed, additionally the surroundings are filled with beautiful scenery. The following are things to do in Boise, a few examples of what there is to do, places to go, and ways to get the adventures started (especially if already living within Treasure Valley and planning out items for spring break!). Note, many of these activities will continue during the summer.
Wildflower tour
Take a walk, stroll, or jaunt on the wildflower side of the city with area trails that lead through the beautiful foothills of Boise. Make way through the foothills- If wildflowers bring happiness and enjoyment when exploring the outdoors (or if flowers are simply enjoyed at all times), visitors won’t want to miss this activity located near the Old Penitentiary! Visitors are welcomed, and adventurers will engage in a celebration of the foothills wildflowers as botanists lead participants on a 1.5 to 2-hour expedition behind the Old Penitentiary. The trek will be a leisurely jaunt or walk and meets in front of the Idaho Botanical Garden administration building. Registration is limited and tickets are required.

Hunger Busters: An Idaho Hunger Relief Concert
This event hosts a lineup of various artists and events, from educational fun to a silent auction to help The Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force (a 501(c3) Idaho non-profit organization) end hunger in Idaho! The Bands Include Boise Chordsmen, EpicUnion, Highway 45, Chronology, and X-Degenerates with sound by 5-QRL. The free concert is the kick-off to the Idaho Gives Week and combines helping out the community with auctions, education, live music, and performances.

BOISE: Holi Hai - Festival of Colors Bollywood
This event makes getting messy not only acceptable, but it’s also part of the fun. The event will host non-stop presentations with live music, dance, and hourly throwing of colors (indoors only) and does require a ticket(s) for entry. There will be folks singing, dancing, and the opportunity to take part in yoga. The Holi Hai - Festival of Colors event happens every year, rain or shine, and hosts an array of powdered colors, making this event one of the richest, vibrant, and splashy celebrations.

Sensory Friendly Sundays
The activities combined with a sensory-friendly environment include the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park Meridian. The indoor large-scale trampoline is geared for maximizing indoor fun without the concerns of seasonal weather getting in the way, with wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. The park is geared toward all ages of adventurers and encourages visitors to explore, soar, jump and experience the ultimate attraction for trampoline fun. Be prepared for an amazing day of fun-filled activity and exercise without the worries of weather getting in the way.

Freak Alley Boise
Freak Alley boasts an extraordinary selection of art styles within the largest outdoor mural & gallery in the northwestern United States. The alley leads explorers through a maze of artistic styles and is absolutely free to go check out 24/7, though heading over to this location during daylight hours is recommended for maximum enjoyment, especially having the opportunity to check out area shops and dining options when finished exploring this area! There are a mix of indoor galleries that offer a continuation of the artist concepts offered at Freak Alley also located downtown if a full day of art exploration is planned. Depending on the time of year, there are new art pieces approved that may be in the works that go up on the walls when visitors arrive, creating an opportunity to witness the work in progress, so be sure to visit often! Be sure to bring a camera if pictures are preferred, and grab lots of pictures next to the different pieces, and keep them with the favorite memories album. Freak Alley is located on 9th Street.

Boise Farmers Market
This one-day free event is geared toward fresh food, with a walk-thru option in addition to the drive-thru services offered for maximum comfort, volunteer opportunities, as well as various vendor tents offering a combination of services & products, as well as various food trucks & trailers. The Boise Farmers Market is a rain or shine event, generally hosting somewhere around 90 vendors each week, or minimally the market will boast around at least 65 to 75 various merchants with droves of fresh foods available. Lots of fresh produce may be expected, as well as a wide selection of locally raised meat products, seafoods, beverages, pastries, dairy and homemade items for the house. There will be various opportunities for food tasting with locally grown and produced products.
