It seems like everyone is in an uproar over the so-called failing Real Estate market but statistics are showing there really isn’t anything to be concerned about.  It’s true that today’s market is not what it was in 2005 and 2006 but what is wrong with that?  Things were booming at that time and have since slowed down.  I would consider this market a “healthy” market.  We are back to the days of negotiating!  The average days on the market in Ada County in the 2nd Quarter was still only 51, which is down from the 62 it was at in the first quarter.  It seems like all the “doom and gloom” you hear about in national news has really gotten to people!  Do your homework and you’ll see that Ada County is still appreciating.  Looking at the first quarter in comparison to the second quarter shows that the average price went up, the number of homes on the market increased, the number of homes sold increased and the average days on market decreased…these are all good signs!  If you are considering buying or selling call and get advice for local agents like Jeri who has been in the business for over 10 years or myself, who has lived in the area all my life - chance are we are going to have a much better idea of what is going on with the market than national newscasters!
